About the Role

As a Senior Specialist in Brand Strategy, you will be instrumental in shaping the Johnson Controls brand strategy on a global scale. Your role will focus on translating strategic direction into actionable plans, ensuring seamless execution across various teams, channels, and geographical locations.

This position emphasizes the Johnson Controls enterprise brand. You will actively contribute to the ongoing development of our global brand strategy through brand messaging, campaign development, and ensuring alignment with established positioning, architecture, and governance. You will take ownership of brand health tracking and competitive benchmarking, providing analytical insights that support strategic decision-making. How You Will Do It

Implementation of Strategic Brand Positioning

  • Contribute to the evolution of Johnson Controls’ brand positioning to differentiate the company in competitive B2B markets through brand strategy frameworks, messaging platforms, and value propositions.
  • Conduct market research, customer insight analysis, and competitive assessments to inform strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with internal and creative partners to ensure consistent brand positioning and representation.

Brand Health Tracking

  • Monitor brand health performance metrics, providing recommendations that can lead to industry breakthroughs.
  • Deliver competitive benchmarks and analysis for Johnson Controls' global brand.
  • Utilize data and insights to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and perception across various platforms.
  • Present strategic recommendations and performance reports to senior stakeholders.

Brand Content & Governance

  • Develop and refine brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits to support consistent brand activation.
  • Lead governance efforts to ensure global adherence to brand standards, tracking progress and addressing gaps.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate brand standards into AI tools, naming systems, and taxonomy frameworks.
  • Manage trademark usage and internal naming processes to maintain brand clarity and legal compliance.
  • Ensure brand assets are accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with strategic priorities.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Translate brand strategy into engaging brand narratives and content.
  • Work closely with internal creative teams and external agencies to develop campaign assets, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Lead key thought leadership and positioning programs that strengthen the equity of the Johnson Controls brand.

Required Qualifications

  • Native-level fluency in English, with exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in brand strategy and execution (positioning, identity, M&A, TM) with a strong understanding of visual identity building blocks.
  • Demonstrated track record of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong skills in brand management, analytics, project management, and organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with HVAC, energy, automation, or smart building technologies.
