About the Role
As a Senior Specialist in Brand Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Johnson Controls brand strategy on a global scale. Your contributions will be essential in translating strategic direction into actionable plans while ensuring consistent execution across various teams, channels, and regions.
This role centers on the Johnson Controls enterprise brand. You will actively participate in the ongoing evolution of our global brand strategy, contributing to brand messaging, campaign development, and alignment with established positioning, architecture, and governance. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing brand health tracking and conducting competitive benchmarking, offering analyses that support strategic decision-making. How You Will Do It
Implementation of Strategic Brand Positioning
- Contribute to the evolution of Johnson Controls’ brand positioning to differentiate the company in competitive B2B markets using brand strategy frameworks, messaging platforms, and value propositions.
- Conduct market research, customer insight analysis, and competitive assessments to inform strategic direction.
- Collaborate with internal and creative partners to ensure consistent positioning and delivery of brand representation.
Brand Health Tracking
- Monitor brand health performance metrics and drive recommendations that resonate within the industry.
- Steer and deliver competitive benchmarks and analyses for the Johnson Controls global brand.
- Utilize data and insights to optimize brand visibility, engagement, and perception across platforms.
- Present strategic recommendations and performance reports to senior stakeholders.
Brand Content & Governance
- Develop and refine brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits to support consistent brand activation.
- Lead governance efforts to ensure global adherence to brand standards, tracking progress and addressing gaps.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate brand standards into AI tools, naming systems, and taxonomy frameworks.
- Oversee trademark usage and internal naming processes to maintain brand clarity and legal compliance.
- Ensure brand assets are accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with strategic priorities.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Translate brand strategy into compelling brand narratives and content.
- Work with internal creative teams and external agencies to develop campaign assets while ensuring brand consistency.
- Lead key thought leadership and positioning programs that enhance the equity and strength of the Johnson Controls brand.
Required Qualifications
- Native-level fluency in English, with exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Prior experience in brand strategy and execution (including positioning, identity, M&A, and trademark) with a strong sense of visual identity building blocks.
- Demonstrated track record of collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong skills in branding, analytical thinking, project management, and organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HVAC, energy, automation, or smart building technologies.
