About the Role
As a Senior Specialist in Brand Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Johnson Controls brand strategy on a global scale. You will help translate strategic direction into actionable plans, ensuring consistent execution across teams, channels, and geographical locations.
This position focuses on the Johnson Controls enterprise brand. You will actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of our global brand strategy through brand messaging, campaign development, and alignment with established positioning, architecture, and governance. Additionally, you will be responsible for brand health tracking and competitive benchmarking, providing analysis that supports strategic decision-making. Success in this role requires a proactive, detail-oriented brand professional who thrives on collaboration and enhances our strategic initiatives with thoughtful contributions.
How You Will Do It
Implementation of Strategic Brand Positioning
- Contribute to the evolution of Johnson Controls’ brand positioning to differentiate the company in competitive B2B markets through strategic frameworks, messaging platforms, and value propositions.
- Conduct market research, customer insight analysis, and competitive assessments to inform strategic direction.
- Collaborate with internal and creative partners to ensure consistent brand representation and messaging delivery.
Brand Health Tracking
- Monitor brand health performance metrics and drive recommendations that stand out in the industry.
- Deliver competitive benchmarks and analyses for the global Johnson Controls brand.
- Utilize data and insights to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and perception across various platforms.
- Present strategic recommendations and performance reports to senior stakeholders.
Brand Content & Governance
- Develop and refine brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits to facilitate consistent activation of the brand.
- Lead governance efforts to ensure global adherence to brand standards, mapping progress and addressing gaps.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate brand standards into AI tools, naming systems, and taxonomy frameworks.
- Oversee trademark usage and internal naming processes to maintain brand clarity and legal compliance.
- Ensure brand assets are accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with strategic priorities.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Translate brand strategy into compelling narratives and content.
- Work closely with internal creative teams and external agencies to develop campaign assets and ensure brand consistency.
- Lead key thought leadership and positioning programs that enhance the equity and strength of the Johnson Controls brand.
Requirements
- Native-level fluency in English with exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Prior experience in brand strategy and execution, including positioning, identity, mergers & acquisitions, and trademark management, with a strong understanding of visual identity fundamentals.
- Proven track record of collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong brand, analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HVAC, energy, automation, or smart building technologies.
