As an international organization dedicated to biosecurity and biosafety, IBBIS strengthens international, regional, and national norms while developing innovative tools. One such tool is the Common Mechanism, a key system for screening synthetic DNA. In 2025, IBBIS will focus on expanding synthetic DNA screening, supporting international standards, and assisting with responsible research and innovation.
The Senior Bioinformatics Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and expanding the Common Mechanism, IBBIS’s open-source sequence screening tool. Having been validated on over 1 million sequences and proven resilient to AI-redesigned pathogens, IBBIS is dedicated to establishing this tool as a global standard for synthesis screening.
