Company Overview
RA Scale AG is an ETH Zurich spin-off dedicated to developing an AI-powered SaaS platform that automates tenders and supplier selection in the construction industry. Based in Zurich, our growing team of around 20 professionals is expanding its reach into Germany and Austria.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of scalable backend services for our AI-driven SaaS platform
- Development of microservices and APIs using Go, Python, or TypeScript
- Architecture and operation of distributed systems on cloud infrastructure (GCP)
- Optimization of performance, scalability, and system reliability
- Integration of data sources and development of interfaces for internal AI models
- Collaboration with front-end and DevOps teams on system design and deployment
- Responsibility for code quality, testing, and documentation
- Contribution to the long-term backend architecture and technical roadmap
Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience as a backend or software engineer in a cloud environment
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C#, or Java
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design
- Competence in handling databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, or comparable systems
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of system architecture, scaling strategies, and observability
- High quality standards, a structured approach to work, and enjoyment in tackling complex systems
- Excellent English skills (working language); proficiency in German is a plus
