Job Description

Two of our online marketplaces, tutti.ch and anibis.ch, are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their dynamic team.

The backend team for tutti.ch and anibis.ch operates in stream-aligned product groups utilizing the SCRUM methodology. Each team consists of 2-3 Backend Engineers, a Product Owner, an Engineering Manager, Designers, and Mobile and Web Engineers. Our teams collaborate closely with Platform (infrastructure) and Data (BI) teams, with each product team responsible for a specific domain.

Engineers are entrusted with the design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring of systems. We run Go-based backend services on AWS with Kubernetes, deploying daily to over 300k users. Our code is reviewed and deployed directly from GitHub. The technology stack includes:

• PostgreSQL
• Elasticsearch
• Redis
• SendGrid (emails)
• Auth0 (authentication)

We maintain high test coverage using tools like Testify, and we implement integration tests for databases, Redis, and Kafka.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

• A proven track record of at least 5 years making impactful technical decisions and driving project outcomes.
• While our software stack is primarily written in Go, we welcome engineers from diverse programming language backgrounds who are eager to work with Go.
• Proven experience with strongly typed languages in complex settings, particularly in building and delivering web services.
• A positive attitude and a fervent passion for your craft are valued more than simply checking boxes.
• A pragmatic, empathetic team player who strives to understand others before seeking to be understood.
