Our online marketplaces, tutti.ch and anibis.ch, are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Meet the Team

At SMG, our strength lies in our people. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with:

The tutti.ch and anibis.ch Backend Team operates in stream-aligned product units, employing the SCRUM methodology. Each team is composed of:

• 2-3 Backend Engineers
• A Product Owner
• An Engineering Manager
• Designers
• Mobile and Web Engineers

Our teams work closely with Platform (infrastructure) and Data (BI) teams, taking ownership of specific domains. Engineers are accountable for design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring. Our Go-based backend services run on AWS with Kubernetes, serving over 300k users daily. Code reviews and deployments are managed directly from GitHub. Our technology stack includes:

• PostgreSQL
• Elasticsearch
• Redis
• SendGrid (emails)
• Auth0 (authentication)

We maintain high test coverage using tools such as Testify, incorporating integration tests for databases, Redis, and Kafka.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

• A track record of at least 5 years in making high-impact technical decisions and leading project outcomes.
• While our software stack is primarily written in Go, we welcome engineers from various programming backgrounds who are eager to work with Go.
• Proven experience with strongly typed languages in complex environments, including development and delivery of web services.
• A positive attitude and passion for your craft take precedence over merely checking boxes.
• A pragmatic and empathetic team member who strives to understand others before seeking to be understood.
