Our Azure platform is live and delivering substantial value. We are currently focused on standardizing and strengthening it to support more agents, increased data volumes, and new verticals - this is where you play a crucial role.

Your Role: Senior Azure Platform Engineer

As a Senior Azure Platform Engineer, you will spearhead the evolution of our platform, preparing it for future challenges. You will report directly to the CTO and collaborate with a dynamic engineering team of approximately 15 members where you will operate with high autonomy, focusing on clear outcomes and rapid decision-making, without the constraints of micromanagement or extensive specifications. Our culture prioritizes AI-first methodologies and emphasizes action over meetings.

What You'll Accomplish

• Platform & Infrastructure Ownership:
  • Manage and enhance our Azure environment (Container Apps, Functions, storage, networking, data pipelines).
  • Scale our data scraping and vision extraction systems alongside growing data volumes.
  • Automate provisioning and operations, prioritizing automation over manual work.
  • Develop actionable observability tools, including monitoring, alerting, and cost tracking.
• DevOps & Team Enablement:
  • Create CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and safe agent deployment.
  • Remove infrastructure-related blockers for the engineering team.
  • Establish standards that facilitate easier platform development.
  • Document key decisions and systems to promote scalable knowledge sharing.
• Platform Evolution:
  • Architect solutions for future needs, including MLOps readiness and multi-vertical scaling.
  • Optimize Azure spending responsibly.
  • Support Microsoft partnership requirements when necessary.

What Easens Your Start

You are naturally inclined towards AI-first practices, utilizing tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Copilot. Your extensive experience (5+ years) on Azure has equipped you with a solid understanding of managing real environments and making informed decisions regarding serverless patterns. You prioritize automation, whether with Terraform, Bicep, or AI-assisted infrastructure management, ensuring predictability and ease of use across the platform.

Your proactive ownership and clear communication help streamline tasks and align the team's objectives. Proficiency in Python for scripting, tool-building, and utility creation is advantageous.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience scaling data acquisition and pipelines and MLOps/DataOps.
• A proven record of enhancing infrastructure reliability.
• Ability to convey technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Practical Requirements

Swiss / EU / EFTA citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit is required, along with the availability to work on-site in Zurich (this is not a fully remote role).
