Our Visp site in Switzerland is expanding, and we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to lead the implementation of a standardized Automation Recipe Lifecycle approach for new growth assets transitioning into operational status. This is a unique opportunity to join a central team that collaborates with Automation and Operations teams across all Biologics Manufacturing Assets to coordinate updates, testing, documentation, and installation of recipe objects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of a standardized recipe lifecycle approach for products currently in routine manufacturing.
- Drive the development of recipes for major growth projects.
- Author cGMP-compliant documentation (FS, Software Test Cases, SOPs, etc.) in collaboration with Bioprocess Engineers, Plant Leads, QA, and MSAT teams.
- Supervise and manage process changes under change control during start-up, qualification, and production phases. Participate in risk assessments and process deviation analyses.
- Provide support outside of normal working hours in exceptional cases, such as imminent production downtime or security issues.
- Build and modify shared recipe objects, and define EC Modules in the MES/DeltaV systems to facilitate production processes.
- Enhance procedures and processes in line with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality requirements within the responsibility area.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Computer Engineering, Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Structured, focused, and well-organized work ethic; solution-oriented with an open mind for new insights.
- Expertise with MES Syncade and DeltaV is highly desirable, along with familiarity with other GMP systems (LIMS, SAP, MODA, etc.).
- Able to identify risks related to security or compliance/GMP, and facilitate resolution discussions.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of IT/process control systems with the ability to identify operational optimization potential.
- Independent implementation of measures to optimize security, costs, or operational processes.
- Business fluency in English.
