Opportunity in Visp, Switzerland

Our site in Visp, Switzerland, is expanding! We are currently looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to lead the implementation of a standardized Automation Recipe Lifecycle approach for new growth assets as they transition into operation. This position offers a chance to work as part of a central team that collaborates with Automation and Operations across all Biologics Manufacturing Assets to coordinate recipe updates, testing, documentation, and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a standardized recipe lifecycle approach for products in the routine manufacturing phase.
• Drive the development of recipes for major growth projects.
• Author cGMP-compliant documentation (e.g., FS, Software Test Cases, SOPs) in collaboration with the Bioprocess engineer, Plant Lead, QA, and MSAT.
• Supervise and manage processes under change control during the start-up, qualification, and production phases, including participation in risk and process deviation analyses.
• Provide support outside of normal working hours for critical situations, such as imminent production downtime.
• Build and modify shared recipe objects and define EC Modules in the MES / DeltaV systems to facilitate production processes.
• Enhance processes and procedures to comply with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality standards within the area of responsibility.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Computer Engineering, Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Structured, focused, and well-organized work ethic; solution-oriented with an openness to new insights.
• Expertise with MES Syncade and DeltaV is highly desirable, along with familiarity with other GMP systems (LIMS, SAP, MODA, etc.).
• Ability to identify and address risks related to security or compliance/GMP.
• Outstanding team collaboration and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of IT/process control systems, with the ability to recognize opportunities for operational optimization.
• Independently implement measures to enhance security, reduce costs, or optimize operational processes.
• Business fluent in English.
