About the Role

Our site in Visp, Switzerland is expanding, and we are currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) for our Biologics organization. In this role, you will lead the implementation of a standardized Automation Recipe Lifecycle approach as we transition new growth assets into operation. This position presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with a central team, working alongside Automation and Operations across all Biologics Manufacturing Assets to coordinate recipe object updates, testing, documentation, and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of a standardized recipe lifecycle approach for products in the routine manufacturing phase.
  • Drive the development of recipes for major growth projects.
  • Author cGMP-compliant documentation (FS, Software Test Cases, SOPs, etc.) in collaboration with Bioprocess engineers, Plant Leads, QA, and MSAT.
  • Supervise and manage processes under change control during start-up, qualification, and production phases. Participate in risk and process deviation analyses.
  • Provide support outside of normal working hours in exceptional cases, such as imminent production downtime or security issues.
  • Build and modify shared recipe objects, defining EC Modules in the MES / DeltaV systems to run production processes.
  • Enhance procedures and processes in compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality standards in your area of responsibility.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Computer Engineering, Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Structured, focused, and well-organized work ethic; solution-oriented and open to new insights.
  • Expertise with MES Syncade and DeltaV is highly desirable; familiarity with other GMP systems (LIMS, SAP, MODA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to identify risks related to security or compliance/GMP, discuss them, and help resolve them.
  • Outstanding team player with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of IT/process control systems and the ability to recognize optimization potential.
  • Independently implements measures to optimize security, costs, and operational processes.
  • Business fluent in English.
