Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer

AES is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and testing of automated production processes, including recipe, EM, CM configuration, and sequencing using DeltaV. This position involves troubleshooting I/O and configuring DeltaV systems, alongside a strong understanding of DeltaV infrastructure. The Senior Automation Engineer will contribute to the standardization and optimization of automation production processes and will be jointly responsible for knowledge transfer and decision-making within the team.

This role serves as the key liaison for technical oversight on assigned projects, ensuring seamless communication between clients and site personnel to achieve project success. The engineer will collaborate with all affected parties to meet milestones and production timelines while proactively identifying and addressing scope deviations to meet client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and implement changes associated with assigned projects.
  • Drive the development and implementation of automated processes, equipment, and inspection systems.
  • Design, develop, and optimize automation processes to ensure readiness for production environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers or work independently to establish project plans that align with internal customer expectations using appropriate project management tools.
  • Implement and integrate external systems to enhance existing automated equipment.
  • Investigate the root causes of equipment failures or quality issues and formulate a forward-looking approach.
  • Apply various engineering applications such as robotics, automation, and simulation to implement process improvements.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience in automation design.
  • Proficient in Automation Manufacturing Practice (GAMP).
  • Experience with control systems, particularly DeltaV.
  • Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of total automation experience, including at least 5 years of DeltaV experience.
