Position Overview

Our site in Visp, Switzerland is experiencing growth, and we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to lead the implementation of a standardized Automation Recipe Lifecycle approach for new growth assets transitioning into operation. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a central team that collaborates with Automation and Operations across all Biologics Manufacturing Assets, coordinating recipe object updates, testing, documentation, and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a standardized recipe lifecycle approach for products already in routine manufacturing.
• Drive development of recipes for major growth projects.
• Author cGMP-compliant documentation (FS, Software Test Cases, SOPs, etc.) in collaboration with the Bioprocess engineer, Plant Lead, QA, and MSAT.
• Supervise and modify processes under change control during the start-up, qualification, and production phases. Participate in risk and process deviation analyses.
• Provide support outside of normal working hours in critical cases such as imminent production downtime or security issues.
• Build and modify shared recipe objects, and define EC Modules in the MES / DeltaV systems to run production processes.
• Improve procedures and processes in compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality requirements in your area of responsibility.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Computer Engineering, Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Structured, focused, and well-organized work ethic, with a solution-oriented and open-minded approach to new insights.
• Expertise with MES Syncade and DeltaV is highly desired, along with familiarity with other GMP systems (LIMS, SAP, MODA, etc.).
• Ability to recognize and discuss risks related to security and compliance/GMP, contributing to their resolution.
• Outstanding team collaboration and communication skills.
• Very good understanding of IT/process control systems, with a keen recognition of operational optimization potential.
• Independently implement measures to optimize security, cost, or operational processes.
• Business fluent in English.
