Senior Automation Engineer at AES
AES is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer who will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and testing the functionality of automated production processes, including recipe, EM, CM configuration, and sequencing with DeltaV. This individual will engage in I/O troubleshooting and configuration of DeltaV, while also gaining a comprehensive understanding of the DeltaV infrastructure. This role supports the standardization and optimization of automation production processes and is responsible for knowledge transfer and effective decision-making within the team.
The Senior Automation Engineer will serve as a liaison for technical oversight on assigned projects, ensuring successful collaboration between clients and site personnel. Communication with all affected parties is vital to meet project milestones and production timelines, and the engineer is expected to proactively identify and escalate any scope deviations to ensure alignment with client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Validation and implementation of changes related to the assigned projects.
- Drive development and implementation of automated processes, equipment, and inspection systems.
- Design, develop, and optimize automation processes for production readiness.
- Collaborate with project managers or work independently to establish project plans that meet internal customer expectations using appropriate project management tools.
- Implement and integrate external systems to enhance existing automated equipment.
- Investigate root causes of equipment failures or quality issues and develop actionable solutions.
- Apply various engineering applications, such as robotics, automation, and simulation, to implement process improvements.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills:
- Experience in automation design.
- Familiarity with Automation Manufacturing Practices (GAMP).
- Control system experience, specifically with DeltaV.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding customer service orientation.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 6+ years of total automation experience, with a minimum of 5 years of DeltaV experience.
