We are seeking a talented Senior Audio Engineer to join our team at the Sennheiser Mobility R&D center in Zürich. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing immersive and tailored audio experiences that enhance the overall environment within premium vehicle cabins. You will manage all personnel and activities in this domain while having the opportunity to work with Sennheiser Mobility's proprietary software and benefit from the support of our skilled team members.

You will guide and manage the audio team, defining and standardizing processes to establish a better operational structure. Frequent interactions with clients will provide technical insights to support discussions and meet their needs. Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in audio engineering, sound design, music production, or a related field focusing on immersive audio technologies, with a Tonmeister degree being particularly valuable.
  • Experience: Previous experience in audio engineering, sound design, or similar roles, ideally within the automotive industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in audio recording, editing, and mixing techniques, and familiarity with various audio measurement tools and industry-standard software such as Pro Tools, REAPER, or Logic Pro.
  • Acoustic Knowledge: Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and sound perception in immersive audio contexts.
  • Creativity: An innovative approach to sound design with a keen sense of aesthetics and trends.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in tuning and balancing audio systems.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues related to audio system performance and sound quality.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with advancements in automotive audio technology.
  • Project Management Skills: Proficient in handling project timelines, budgeting, and coordinating with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to Travel: Prepared to travel extensively, up to 50% of the time, primarily to Asia for on-site testing, client meetings, or industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize the in-vehicle sound experience by balancing and tuning audio systems for the best possible sound quality.
  • Conduct objective evaluations of audio systems using precise measurement techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to define and standardize tuning processes.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients regarding sound-related aspects of automotive systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and technical documents on audio system development.
  • Manage all personnel resources related to sound design and tuning.
  • Represent the audio team in project planning.
  • Collaborate with business developers to demo technologies to customers.
  • Keep up to date with advances in automotive audio and psychoacoustic research.
