Summary
We are looking for a Senior Analysis Engineer to lead the analysis activities for our critical sub-systems product lines. You will act as the technical reference for the discipline within the project team, train and review the work of others under your technical supervision, and drive innovation in analysis methods. You will not only be performing complex technical tasks but will also own a section of the discipline, supporting the lead engineer in improving the efficiency and performance of the analysis group.
Your Mission
- Conduct and lead highly complex tasks without supervision. Establish sustainable solutions to prevent the recurrence of issues:
- Define analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems or verify solutions.
- Establish and review analysis methods and create mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis.
- Guide and coach the team under their technical supervision (3 to 4 team members).
- Perform test predictions, test evaluations, and correlations.
- Conduct detailed stress and strength verification analysis.
- Lead the analysis activities for a product family/portfolio during product development, production support, innovation, and projects. Act as the local technical authority in their field and the first level of escalations. Propose market-oriented initiatives to improve existing products, technologies, and production processes.
- Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with the adjacent engineering fields and departments outside engineering, such as operations, quality, procurement, and other disciplines.
- Support processes and product continuous improvements to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand.
- Write and review technical documentation (e.g., test plans, analysis reports), project-related deliverables, and other specifications related to their field of work. Adapt to product- and mission-specific requirements.
- Work package / Task Manager: Own technical, budget, and schedule responsibilities for tasks assigned by projects. Handle multiple tasks and coordinate the work of others within the discipline. Set priorities.
- Participate in NRBs (Non-Conformance Review Board) according to the NC process. Propose technical solutions in their field of activity. Secure measures for root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures. Implement Lessons Learned.
- Represent your engineering field during negotiations and reviews with customers and suppliers or subcontractors.
- Co-work in the bidding team for proposals, quotations, concept work, developments, and interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions (assess schedule and cost estimates as well as technical roadmap).
- Build and maintain relevant contacts with external stakeholders.
- Be responsible for coaching and skill enhancement within their scope of activity in the discipline. Identify, manage, and maintain associated competences. Lead training initiatives and develop learning materials. Coach less experienced engineers and external employees and review their work.
Your Story
- University/ETH Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in an Aerospace company (or equivalent relevant experience) in the fields of:
- FE Analysis with MSC (NASTRAN), Altair Hyperworks (OptiStruct), and/or Abaqus & NX Siemens.
- Detailed stress analysis.
- Proven expertise in static/dynamic/non-linear analysis, hand calculations, fatigue and damage tolerance (ESACRACK & Nasgro), shock, and analysis of metallic, composites, and sandwich structures.
- Proficient with NASTRAN, OptiStruct, and ABAQUS solvers.
- Experience in test prediction and correlation of structures and components, static and dynamic.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in analysis of payload fairing and other launchers or satellite structures.
- Experience with separation systems.
- Advanced knowledge in detailed stress analysis using aerospace methods.
- Advanced knowledge in mechanical lay-out of aerospace structures and components.
- Experience in acoustic, micro vibration, stability, and CFD.
- Leadership experience.
