Summary
We are looking for a Senior Analysis Engineer to lead the analysis activities for our critical sub-systems product lines. You will act as the technical reference for the discipline within the project team, train and review the work of others under your technical supervision, and drive innovation in analysis methods. You will be responsible for complex technical tasks and will own, from a technical standpoint, a section of the discipline, supporting the lead engineer in improving the efficiency and performance of the analysis group.
Your Mission
- Conduct and lead highly complex tasks without supervision, establishing sustainable solutions to prevent the recurrence of issues:
- Define analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems or verify solutions.
- Establish and review analysis methods and create mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis.
- Guide and coach the team under your technical supervision (3 to 4 team members).
- Perform test predictions, evaluations, and correlations.
- Carry out detailed stress and strength verification analysis.
- Lead the analysis activities for a product family/portfolio during product development, production support, innovation, and project phases. Be the local technical authority in your field and the first level of escalations, proposing market-oriented initiatives to improve existing products, technologies, and production processes.
- Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and non-engineering departments such as operations, quality, and procurement.
- Support continuous improvement processes and products to meet customer quality, cost, and demand.
- Write and review technical documentation (e.g., Test plans, analysis reports, project-related deliverables, and other specifications) related to your field of work.
- Act as Work Package/Task Manager, owning technical, budget, and schedule responsibilities for the tasks assigned by projects while coordinating the work of others within the discipline.
- Participate in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) according to the NC process, proposing technical solutions and securing measures for root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Represent your engineering field during negotiations and reviews with customers and suppliers or subcontractors.
- Cooperate within the bidding team for proposals, quotations, concept work, developments, and interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders while coaching and enhancing the skills of your team within the discipline.
Your Story
- University/ETH master's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in an aerospace company or equivalent relevant experience, specifically in:
- FE Analysis using MSC (NASTRAN), Altair Hyperworks (OptiStruct), and/or Abaqus & NX Siemens.
- Detailed stress analysis.
- Proven expertise in static, dynamic, and non-linear analysis, hand calculations, fatigue and damage tolerance, and shock analysis of metallic, composites, and sandwich structures.
- Proficient with the following solvers: NASTRAN, OptiStruct, and ABAQUS.
- Experience in test prediction and correlation of static and dynamic structures and components.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in analysis of payload fairing and other launchers or satellite structures.
- Experience with separation systems.
- Advanced knowledge in detailed stress analysis using aerospace methods.
- Advanced knowledge in the mechanical layout of aerospace structures and components.
- Experience in Acoustic, micro-vibration, Stability, and CFD.
- Leadership experience.
Why Beyond Gravity
- Work in an international environment with a global mindset and high-tech products that will fly into space.
- Be part of a highly specialized and motivated team with extensive expertise in a unique industry.
- Experience a hands-on approach where your suggestions for improvement will be valued.
- Enjoy attractive employment conditions, including contributions to public transport, training and development opportunities, full paid maternity/paternity leave, and more.
- Benefit from flexible mobile working arrangements and at least 5 weeks of vacation, with the option to buy additional leave.
