Senior Agricultural Analyst / Senior Agricultural Analystess

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Commodities Senior Analyst to generate differentiated trade ideas across grains, oilseeds/vegoil, and soft commodities. This role combines market analysis, balance-sheet forecasting, systematic modeling, and discretionary trading.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundamental market views and trade ideas across grains and oilseeds/vegoil.
• Build dynamic supply-and-demand balances, incorporating crop modeling, yield predictions, and weather considerations.
• Identify relative-value, calendar-spread, basis, and outright-price opportunities.
• Develop Python-based models utilizing fundamentals, price relationships, seasonality, and trade-flow data.
• Execute and monitor trades within defined risk limits; manage positions, P&L, and market risk.
• Maintain large-scale commodity datasets, dashboards, and research tools.
• Present market views, trading recommendations, and risk scenarios to portfolio managers and management.

Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in agricultural commodity research and analytics.
• Deep expertise in grain and oilseed/vegoil markets; experience in soft commodities is preferred.
• Strong understanding of global flows, supply-demand balances, and futures market structure.
• Demonstrated success in developing actionable trade ideas and managing or supporting commodity risk.
• Advanced skills in Python and Excel/VBA; experience with data modeling and machine-learning techniques is preferred.
• Strong quantitative, commercial, and communication skills.
• A degree in economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Preference for candidates based in Geneva/Zug.
