About the Role

In our R&D BiMOS semiconductor chip groups at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we are pioneering state-of-the-art semiconductor devices across various voltage classes. Our high-quality products are manufactured at advanced internal and external production sites and are delivered to a diverse array of customers worldwide for applications spanning industrial usage, renewable energy, traction, and E-mobility.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated R&D Semiconductor Chip Specialist to shape the future of semiconductor chip technology and product development. You will be instrumental in developing the next generation of low and high voltage Diodes, IGBTs, and MOSFETs.

Your Impact

In this position, you will play a key role in the development of advanced power semiconductor device products. You will closely collaborate with design and process specialists to establish technology goals, features, and integration plans. Your expertise will drive innovation and enhance performance, putting you at the forefront of technology and product development. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing next-generation power semiconductor chips from concept to final product, optimizing for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Managing product development projects or work packages to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Collaborating with process specialists from early design phases to define robust, scalable process requirements that meet yield targets and ramp-up plans.
• Engaging with chip designers, R&D module teams, product managers, process engineers, suppliers, and quality experts to ensure seamless technology and product releases.
• Demonstrating a strong drive for continuous learning and sharing knowledge to elevate the entire project team.

Your Background

• Master's or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, ideally specialized in power semiconductor technology.
• Previous experience in design, product, or technology development (IGBT, MOSFET, Diode), ideally within the power semiconductor sector.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process integration is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics, design, functionality, characteristics, and processes.
• Experience with relevant simulation methods and tools such as TCAD.
• Proven track record in project leadership in a relevant area.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to performance, quality, and fostering lasting relationships with teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English, along with strong communication and presentation skills.
