The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Science teacher for grades 9-12 who engages and inspires learners through their own passion and professional practice. An ideal candidate will have significant experience in IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry. Experience teaching Physics would also be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic about collaborating with a team of dynamic, professional Science teachers to plan, deliver, and assess a concept-based and student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. A Science teacher at ZIS will maintain high expectations for students and will be adept at differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in teaching Chemistry, preferably at an international school.
  • For non-Swiss/EU applicants, international experience is required.
  • Teaching license including specialization.
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching.
  • Experience with IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry.
  • Experience teaching Physics would be an advantage.
  • BA / BSc or equivalent university degree.
  • Integration of technology into curriculum.
  • Learner-centered focus.
  • Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
  • Recognizing the importance of scientific inquiry and lab work to support student learning and foster curiosity.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
