The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Science teacher for grades 9-12 who can engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry, with additional experience teaching Physics being an advantage. Candidates should be flexible and enthusiastic about collaborating with a dynamic team of professional Science teachers to plan, deliver, and assess a concept-based and student-centered curriculum within a diverse international school setting. A Science teacher at ZIS will hold high expectations for students and be comfortable differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

Applicants should have at least 3 years of teaching experience in Chemistry, preferably in an international school setting. For non-Swiss/EU applicants, international experience is required.

  • Valid teaching license including specialism
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching
  • Experience with IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry
  • Experience teaching Physics is a plus
  • BA/BSc or an equivalent university degree
  • Integration of technology into the curriculum
  • Learner-centered focus
  • Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction
  • Understanding of the importance of scientific inquiry and lab work to support student learning and foster curiosity

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience preferred
