The Position

We seek a qualified, professional educator with a proven track record in teaching Secondary Social Studies, specifically for grades 9 and 10. The ideal candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic about collaborating with a team of dynamic, professional Social Studies teachers to design, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. They will hold high expectations for students and will be adept at differentiating content and instruction across all courses. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with an EAL population and those who can contribute to the ZIS co-curricular program.

Qualifications

Teacher applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of previous teaching experience, preferably in an international school. Applicants must provide evidence of:

  • Teaching license including specialization
  • Experience teaching integrated Social Studies, combining History, Economics, Geography, and Civics
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching
  • BA / BSc or equivalent university degree
  • Integration of technology into curriculum
  • Concept-driven, student-centered curriculum design
  • Commitment to an inquiry-based approach that fosters curiosity and critical thinking
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development
  • Emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and active participation in school life
