The Position

We are seeking a qualified, professional educator with a proven track record in teaching Secondary Social Studies, specifically for grades 9 and 10. The ideal candidate will be flexible and eager to collaborate with a dynamic team of Social Studies teachers to design, implement, and evaluate a student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. High expectations for students and the ability to differentiate content and instruction across all courses are essential. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with EAL populations and those who can contribute to the ZIS co-curricular program.

Qualifications

Teacher applicants should have at least 3 years of previous teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting. Candidates must provide evidence of the following:

  • Teaching license including specialism
  • Experience in integrated Social Studies curriculum, encompassing History, Economics, Geography, and Civics
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching
  • BA/BSc or equivalent university degree
  • Integration of technology into curriculum delivery
  • Concept-driven, student-centered curriculum design
  • Commitment to an inquiry-based approach that fosters curiosity and critical thinking
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development
  • Emphasis on building strong relationships with students and colleagues
  • Collaboration and active participation in school life
