Secondary French A & B Teacher
100% – 2-year contract – August 2026
Responsibilities:
- Effectively deliver the teaching and learning of the French language (A and B) throughout the secondary school.
- Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of the lower secondary, IGCSE, and IBDP French curricula.
- Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including the selection of resources and efficient classroom management.
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Contribute to a program of trips, excursions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body.
- Develop positive relationships between the French department and the wider community through collaborative efforts, publications, and competitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in the French language with QTS status or equivalent.
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching with a minimum of three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment.
- The ability to teach an additional language (Spanish or German) is a significant asset.
- Knowledge and proven experience of teaching French at an IB Diploma and IGCSE level is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Native French speaker.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to utilize technology effectively for administration and teaching.
- Ability to inspire students from diverse cultural backgrounds by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities.
- Competence in supporting students' needs in learning and pastoral matters.
- Clear criminal background check and valid work permit are assets.
