Zurich International School is an inclusive non-profit day school located in the Greater Zurich area, offering comprehensive bilingual and international educational programs tailored for local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18.

The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12, who can engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional expertise. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP Seminar. We are looking for a flexible individual eager to collaborate with a team of dynamic, professional educators dedicated to planning, delivering, and assessing a student-centered curriculum within our diverse international school setting.

A teacher at ZIS is expected to uphold high standards for student achievement, adopt a mentor mindset, and effectively differentiate content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience teaching English, preferably in an international school setting.
• For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is required.
• A learner-centered focus with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
• A valid teaching license, including a specialism; a master's level study is preferred.
• A documented record of excellence in teaching.
• Commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review.
• Experience with IB English Language & Literature.
• Experience with, or a desire and willingness to teach AP Language and Composition and/or AP Seminar.
• An understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
• Experience with inquiry-based pedagogical approaches.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Emphasis on building strong relationships with students and colleagues.
