The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12. The ideal candidate will engage and inspire learners through their passion for teaching and commitment to educational excellence. Candidates with significant experience in IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP Seminar are encouraged to apply. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of professional educators to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum in our diverse international school setting. At ZIS, teachers maintain high expectations for their students, embrace a mentor mindset, and are adept at differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching English, preferably in an international school environment.
• For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is required.
• Learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
• Teaching license in English with a specialization; Master’s level study is preferred.
• Documented record of excellence in teaching.
• Commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review.
• Experience with IB English Language & Literature.
• Experience with, or a willingness to teach, AP Language and Composition and/or AP Seminar.
• Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
• Inquiry-based pedagogical approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Focus on relationship-building with students and colleagues.
