The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12, who can engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP Seminar.

The successful candidate will be flexible and eager to collaborate with a dynamic team of professional educators to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum within a diverse international school setting. A teacher at ZIS will maintain high expectations for students, adopt a mentor mindset, and demonstrate comfort in differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience teaching English, preferably at an international school.
• Extensive international experience is required for non-Swiss/EU applicants.
• A learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
• A teaching license that includes a specialization; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Documented record of excellence in teaching.
• Commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review.
• Experience with IB English Language & Literature.
• Experience with, or a desire and willingness to teach AP Language and Composition and/or AP Seminar.
• Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
• Inquiry-based pedagogical approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues.
