Zurich International School is an inclusive non-profit day school located in the Greater Zurich area. We offer comprehensive bilingual and international educational programs for local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18.

The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12, who will engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP Seminar. We are looking for someone who is flexible and excited to collaborate with a team of dynamic professionals to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. A teacher at ZIS will hold high expectations for students, adopt a mentor mindset, and be comfortable differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in teaching English, preferably at an international school. For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is required.

• Learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs
• Teaching license including specialization, with a Master’s level of study preferred
• Documented record of excellence in teaching
• Commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review
• Experience with IB English Language & Literature
• Willingness to teach AP Language and Composition and/or AP Seminar
• Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction
• Inquiry-based pedagogical approach
• Commitment to continual professional development
• Emphasis on building relationships with students and colleagues
