Zurich International School is an inclusive non-profit day school located in the Greater Zurich area. We offer comprehensive bilingual and international educational programs designed for local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18.

The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English teacher for grades 11 & 12. The ideal candidate will engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. Candidates should have significant experience with IB Language & Literature HL/SL and AP Language & Composition, and/or AP Seminar. Flexibility and the excitement to collaborate with a dynamic team of professional teachers to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting are essential. At ZIS, teachers are expected to maintain high expectations for students, adopt a mentor mindset, and be comfortable differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in teaching English, preferably at an international school. Extensive international experience is required for non-Swiss/EU applicants.
• A learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
• A teaching license that includes specialization; a Master's level qualification is preferred.
• A documented record of excellence in teaching.
• A commitment to ongoing curriculum development and review.
• Experience with IB English Language & Literature.
• Experience with, or a willingness to teach, AP Language and Composition and/or AP Seminar.
• An understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
• An inquiry-based pedagogical approach.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
• A strong emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues.
