Your Tasks
- Contribute, as part of an interdisciplinary and international team, to multiple ion-trapping projects operated at both room and cryogenic temperatures, with applications ranging from scalable quantum computing to quantum sensing.
- Lead a primary research program and develop an independent research line within the scientific scope of the group.
- Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, coordinating the work of technical staff.
- Contribute to collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects within the group and the institute.
- Develop and lead competitive grant proposals to support both independent and joint research activities.
Your Profile
- PhD in physics, ideally focused on ion trap quantum computation or a closely related field.
- Several years of postdoctoral research experience with increasing scientific independence.
- Excellent publication record in quantum science and technology.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and operating quantum science experiments.
- Strong knowledge of experimental quantum physics techniques.
- Experience with optical systems (including lasers, detectors, fiber optics, and associated electronics); this is considered an advantage.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Strong track record—or clear potential—in acquiring competitive research funding.
