Your Tasks
- Contribute, as part of an interdisciplinary and international team, to multiple ion-trapping projects operated at both room and cryogenic temperatures, addressing applications from scalable quantum computing to quantum sensing.
- Lead a primary research program and develop an independent research line within the scientific scope of the group.
- Supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers while coordinating the efforts of technical staff.
- Contribute to collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects within the group and the institute.
- Develop and lead competitive grant proposals to support independent and joint research activities.
Your Profile
- PhD in physics, ideally with a focus on ion trap quantum computation or a closely related field.
- Several years of postdoctoral research experience with increasing scientific independence.
- Excellent publication record in quantum science and technology.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and operation of quantum science experiments.
- Strong knowledge of experimental quantum physics techniques.
- Experience with optical systems (including lasers, detectors, fiber optics, and associated electronics) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Proven track record, or clear potential, in acquiring competitive research funding.
