Join Our Team as a Scientist in Injectable Formulation Development

As part of our continued investment in their development sciences function, we are seeking a Scientist to join their Injectable Formulation Development team on a 12-month contract basis.

Your Role

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of monoclonal antibody and next-generation biologic therapies, supporting programs from early toxicology studies through to late-stage clinical development. In this highly collaborative environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams across CMC Development, Analytical Sciences, and Clinical Development to help deliver high-quality formulations for a diverse biologics pipeline.

As a Scientist within Injectable Formulation Development, you will undertake laboratory-based studies focused on protein and antibody characterization, formulation development, and stability assessment. You'll play a vital role in generating data that supports both non-clinical and clinical programs while advancing formulation platforms for novel biologic modalities. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment and enjoys combining hands-on laboratory work with scientific problem-solving and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct formulation and analytical studies to support biologics development programs.
  • Perform protein and antibody characterization using a range of analytical techniques.
  • Support pre-formulation and formulation development activities in the laboratory.
  • Contribute to laboratory organization, resource management, and technical support activities.
  • Author protocols, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Interpret and present scientific data to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support the evaluation of biochemical and physical degradation pathways affecting biologic stability.
  • Collaborate across multiple functional areas to support development milestones.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Essential:
    • MSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of three years' relevant laboratory experience within an industrial or academic setting.
    • Experience with protein and antibody analysis techniques such as: HPLC / UPLC, iCE, UV Spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE), Rheology, Microflow Imaging (MFI) or sub-visible particle analysis.
    • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic team environment.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in biologics formulation development.
    • Exposure to laboratory automation technologies.
    • Knowledge of monoclonal antibody development and stability assessment.
