Job Opportunity: Scientist Lab Technician Assay Development (m/f/d)

The world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, Roche Diagnostics, located in Rotkreuz (ZG), is seeking an open-minded and proactive team player to join our Assay Development team. This team is dedicated to the development of molecular diagnostic and screening tests based on PCR technology, focusing on infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology, from early feasibility to commercial launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis as part of product care case handling.
  • Work with high throughput lab analyzers.
  • Conduct routine lab work with infectious samples and lead independent experiments, including their analysis.
  • Plan and execute various work packages for the development of molecular diagnostic tests.
  • Participate in project meetings and present experimental data.
  • Document experiments precisely using electronic lab journals according to GMP standards.
  • Handle and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct statistical data analysis using various software and tools (e.g., JMP).
  • Author official documents (e.g., Design History Files).

Qualifications

  • Graduation as Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), apprenticeship as a Lab Technician (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or at least a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences with practical laboratory experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional lab experience, with a focus on data analyses and biostatistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office and excellent documentation skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and orally, is essential.
  • Open-minded team player with strong analytical skills to assess problems and develop solutions.
  • Pro-active mindset and organized working style.
  • Flexible, strategic thinker who works independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Laboratory experience within a biotechnical environment, particularly with infectious sample handling and Biosafety Level 2.
  • Experience in a GMP/GLP environment.
  • Proficiency in German.
