Join our Team as a Scientist Lab Technician in Assay Development
The world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, Roche Diagnostics, located in Rotkreuz (ZG), is seeking an open-minded and proactive team player for the position of Scientist Lab Technician in Assay Development (m/f/d). Our Assay Development team is dedicated to developing molecular diagnostic and screening tests based on PCR technology across various areas, including infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology, from early feasibility to commercial launch.
Your Responsibilities
As a vital member of our Assay Development team, you will:
Perform root cause analysis as part of product care case handling.
Work with high-throughput lab analyzers.
Conduct routine lab work with infectious samples and lead your own experiments, including their analysis.
Plan and execute different work packages for the development of molecular diagnostics tests.
Participate in project meetings and present experimental data.
Maintain precise documentation of experiments using electronic lab journals in accordance with GMP standards.
Handle and maintain laboratory equipment.
Conduct statistical data analysis using various software and tools (e.g., JMP).
Author official documents (e.g., Design History Files).
Your Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
A degree as a Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), or a Lab Technician apprenticeship (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences with practical laboratory experience.
Minimum of 2 years of professional laboratory experience with data analysis and biostatistics.
Proficient MS Office and documentation skills.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
An open-minded team player with strong analytical thinking to assess problems and develop solutions.
A proactive mindset and organized working style.
Flexible, strategic thinking, and self-dependent abilities.
Experience in a biotechnical environment handling infectious samples (Biosafety Level 2) is a plus.
Familiarity with GMP/GLP environments is desirable.
Knowledge of the German language is beneficial.
