Join Roche Diagnostics as a Scientist Lab Technician - Assay Development

Roche Diagnostics, the world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, is seeking an open-minded and proactive team player for the position of Scientist Lab Technician in Assay Development (m/f/d). Located in Rotkreuz (ZG), our Assay Development team is pivotal in crafting molecular diagnostic and screening tests utilizing PCR technology across infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology, all the way from early feasibility to commercial launch.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct root cause analysis as part of product care case handling.
  • Engage with high throughput lab-analyzer and oversee own experiments, including their analysis.
  • Plan and execute various work packages for the development of molecular diagnostics tests.
  • Participate in project meetings and present experimental data.
  • Document experiments precisely using electronic lab journals in accordance with GMP standards.
  • Handle and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Perform statistical data analysis using various software and tools (e.g., JMP).
  • Author official documents, including Design History Files.

Your Qualifications

  • Graduate as a Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF) or have completed an apprenticeship as a Lab Technician (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or hold at least a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences with practical laboratory experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional lab experience, focusing on data analyses and biostatistics.
  • Excellent MS Office proficiency and strong documentation skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • An open-minded team player with strong analytical thinking capabilities to assess problems and develop effective solutions.
  • A proactive mindset and organized working style.
  • Flexible, strategic thinker who can work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Laboratory experience in a biotechnical environment with infectious sample handling at Biosafety Level 2.
  • Experience in a GMP/GLP environment.
  • Proficiency in the German language.
