The Wyss Zurich Translational Center is an innovative startup accelerator, established as a collaboration between the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich). Our mission is to advance translational research focused on developing treatment protocols and clinical therapies, as well as novel technologies and intelligent systems within the rapidly evolving fields of Regenerative Medicine, Robotics, and related hybrid technologies. Role Overview
In this dynamic role, you will be tasked with translating the center’s cutting-edge scientific work into compelling, accurate, and impactful messages that foster innovation adoption, stakeholder engagement, and successful translation of research into practical applications.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand
- Develop and implement an integrated, science-driven marketing and communication strategy.
- Create scientific content from Wyss Zurich projects for various platforms ensuring accuracy and accessibility for diverse audiences.
- Manage and enhance the digital presence of Wyss Zurich across the website, email, and social media, including planning, publishing, and monitoring campaigns.
- Coordinate content such as scientific materials, videos, program announcements, and newsletters to align with the marketing strategy.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all channels.
Communications & Ecosystem Advocacy
- Serve as a primary contact for external communications, engaging with entrepreneurship programs at ETH/UZH, investors, media, and ecosystem partners.
- Represent Wyss Zurich at events, strengthening relationships and community presence.
- Champion Wyss Zurich’s mission, values, and the broader startup ecosystem.
- Assist with press releases, media outreach, and ecosystem communications as necessary.
- Support in communicating and amplifying successes with platforms, boards, projects, and partners.
Event Development & Support
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing various Wyss Zurich events, including workshops and community gatherings.
- Support event logistics such as timelines, speakers, registrations, and post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver engaging events that reflect our mission and culture.
Program & Team Support
- Work closely with project leaders and technology platforms to understand their needs and translate them into effective communication and marketing activities.
- Monitor marketing and event performance metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects that support the growth and impact of Wyss Zurich.
Requirements
- Degree in marketing, communication, life sciences, or a related field.
- Several years of relevant experience in science communication, marketing, or ecosystem building, preferably at the intersection of academia, startups, life sciences, MedTech, or deep tech.
- Proven ability to convey complex scientific and technical content in a clear, compelling manner for various target audiences.
- Strong digital communication skills (web, newsletters, social media); familiarity with content management systems, basic analytics, and visual or video formats is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in German is a strong asset.
- Confident communicator, capable of interacting professionally with founders, professors, clinicians, investors, and institutional stakeholders.
- Proactive and structured individual who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and is motivated by tangible impact on patients and society.
