Scientific Assistant in Architectural Theory

The Chair of the Theory of Architecture at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at ETH Zurich is seeking a scientific assistant (60%) to begin in Summer 2025.

Job Description

This position involves:

• Teaching the history and theory of architecture.
• Collaborating on the chair's research projects.
• Assisting the chair with administrative tasks.
• Working on an independent research project during your time as a scientific assistant.

Profile

• A Master's degree in architecture with professional experience or a PhD in the humanities and social sciences (history, art history, cultural history, ethnography, etc.) is required.
• Knowledge of German is desirable but not mandatory.
• We particularly encourage applications from candidates with experience in architectural practice who wish to enhance their skills in teaching and researching the history and theory of architecture.
