Scientific Assistant in Architectural Theory

The Chair of the Theory of Architecture at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at ETH Zurich is seeking a scientific assistant (60%) to begin in Summer 2025.

Job Description

The position involves:

  • Teaching the history and theory of architecture
  • Collaborating on the chair's research projects
  • Assisting the chair with administrative tasks
  • Working on an independent research project during the tenure as a scientific assistant

Profile

  • A Master's degree in architecture with professional experience, or alternatively a PhD in the humanities and social sciences (history, art history, cultural history, ethnography, etc.) is required.
  • Knowledge of German is desirable but not essential.
  • We particularly encourage applications from candidates with experience in architectural practice who wish to strengthen their skills in teaching and research related to the history and theory of architecture.
