Join the Research Group at ETH Zurich

The research group led by Professor Valentina Boeva at ETH Zurich is seeking a dedicated Scientific Affairs Manager with a strong scientific background. Ideal candidates will have experience collaborating with biological or clinical labs and groups with a robust machine learning background. We anticipate a mutual agreement regarding the starting date.

This role is perfect for those who are passionate about interdisciplinary work at the interface of machine learning, biology, and medicine. A one-year contract is offered, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research leadership with strategic and operational tasks in a scientific context.
  • Coordinate and oversee scientific projects, particularly in cancer genomics.
  • Act as the central point of contact for clinical and biological partners, focusing on data management and ethics.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, reports, and scientific publications.
  • Manage the lab website and social media presence.
  • Organize and support internal and external meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Serve as an interface between research and administration.

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree (PhD) in mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, a natural science, medicine, or a related field.
  • Experience in scientific research, preferably in machine learning and/or data science.
  • Strong organizational skills with an independent and structured working style.
  • Experience in project management within an academic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary work within a dynamic, international team.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and ethical aspects related to patient data management is advantageous.
  • Experience in graphic design (e.g., for journal covers) is a plus.
