Job Purpose

The School Shop staff support the School Shop Manager during the setup and operation of the annual Essentials Fair. Acting as the first point of contact for new families arriving at the school, the School Shop Staff serve as ambassadors for our institution.

  • Possess basic IT skills.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

School Shop Team Leader

  • Perform all duties of a School Shop Assistant with higher proficiency.
  • Supervise and train new or less experienced shop assistants.
  • Attend a morning Team Leader briefing each day.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and motivating the team.

Essentials Fair Assistant

Setup

  • Assist with setting up the Essentials Fair, including moving and transporting large boxes and furniture.
  • Count and label stock, control barcodes, and prepare stock.
  • Distribute and deliver stationery orders to the various buildings throughout the school.
  • Maintain stock, including inventory management, barcode labeling, and preparation.

During the Fair

  • Sell to and advise students and parents on purchasing their new uniforms and expedition kits.
  • Utilize the checkout system for invoicing all purchases.
  • Label all clothing purchased with name tapes.
  • Assist in distributing and delivering uniforms to the various boarding houses.

After the Fair

  • Help pack away leftover stock and restock the shop as instructed by the School Shop Manager.

Other Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Undertake any other tasks reasonably required by the School Shop Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the School Shop.
  • Understand and implement all school policies and procedures, particularly those related to safeguarding children and young people.
  • Embrace the School’s Guiding Principles and uphold the ethos of the School at all times.
