Job Opportunity: School Assistant (40%)
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified School Assistant to join our team starting on 1 January 2026. The position is part-time (40%) with core hours from Monday to Thursday, 15:00 - 18:00, and Fridays, 13:00 - 18:00.

Essential Requirements
- The right to work in Switzerland (Swiss and EU nationals and current permit holders)
- Fluency in English
- German language skills are desirable but not mandatory
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Student Supervision:
- Promote active and inclusive play and ensure students adhere to safety guidelines.
- Provide supervision during off-site activities, trips, and events.
- Ensure student safety during break and lunch periods while fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Monitor student interactions and behavior, intervening to maintain school expectations.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, supporting their confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
- Assist children in developing social skills, teamwork, and positive behavior.
- Classroom & Teacher Support:
- Assist teachers in preparing and organising classroom materials and resources.
- Support the setup of learning activities, maintaining an organised environment.
- Provide assistance in classrooms or small group settings as required.
- After School Programmes:
- Plan and supervise engaging after school activities and programmes.
- Maintain attendance registers for accountability and safeguarding.
- Communicate with parents about after school programme details and student participation.
- Resource Management:
- Manage and maintain the Resource Room, ensuring materials are accessible and in good condition.
- Oversee playground equipment to ensure safe use and upkeep.
- Ensure spaces used during activities are left clean and tidy.
- Keep inventory of teaching resources and notify staff when restocking is needed.
- Manage Lost Property, returning named items to students.
School Assistants may also choose to lead or support the vacation programme, which offers an additional functional allowance.
Professional Development
- Participate in professional development opportunities as outlined in the school calendar.
- Complete annual safeguarding and first aid training.

Working Hours
42 hours per week (for a 100% work quota), with work time between 7:30 and 18:00 based on the assigned schedule. All staff are expected to be prepared and ready at their scheduled start time.
