Job Offer: School Assistant

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified School Assistant to start on 1 August 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. This position offers a flexible contract type of 40-80% with an indefinite term. Core hours for a 40% workload are Monday to Thursday from 15:00 - 18:00 and Fridays from 13:00 - 18:00, with the potential for an increased workload.

About ELA Basel

ELA Basel is a vibrant international early years daycare center and primary school that offers a nurturing family environment for children aged 3 months to 12 years. Located in the heart of Basel, Switzerland—a cosmopolitan city flourishing on the borders of France and Germany—we currently host approximately 350 children. Established in 1993, ELA Basel celebrated its 30th Jubilee in 2023 and is known for providing high-quality childcare and education, small class sizes, a dynamic curriculum based on the UK National Curriculum, and a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Professional Development

  • Participate in professional development as allocated in the school calendar.
  • Complete annual safeguarding and first aid training.

Working Hours

The role corresponds to 42 hours per week for a full-time (100%) work quota, with work time scheduled between 9:00 and 18:00 depending on allocations. All ELA Basel staff are expected to have their workspaces set up and ready at their scheduled start time.
