Job Description
As a Sales Support Engineer at Tethys Robotics, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing product demonstrations, pilots, and training sessions at customer sites worldwide. You will take ownership of technical delivery, encompassing site assessments, logistics, and operational excellence during demonstrations at trade shows and customer events.
In customer-facing projects, you will serve as the lead operator of our robotic systems, collaborating with R&D engineers on complex technical cases. After each pilot and service mission, you will analyze data, prepare reports, and share results with customers and internal teams, ensuring professional execution and thorough documentation of every project.
Your role will also include enhancing and refining processes to scale and standardize demonstrations and pilot programs. From risk assessments to documentation templates, you will significantly influence how Tethys Robotics conducts field operations for our customers.
As a vital member of the commercial team, your mission is to ensure the success of every demo and pilot, fostering confidence, trust, and long-lasting customer relationships.
Your Contribution
- Plan, organize, and execute customer demonstrations and pilots, including equipment preparation, transport logistics, on-site setup, and agenda planning.
- Conduct site assessments, including risk evaluations and method statements, to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Act as the technical lead and operator during demonstrations and pilots, presenting, piloting, and explaining the robotics technology to customers.
- Perform pilot service jobs for customers and collaborate with R&D on new technical approaches.
- Conduct international customer training on our robotic systems.
- Analyze data collected after demos and pilots, prepare professional reports, and share results with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify marketing opportunities during customer interactions, such as photos, case studies, and testimonials.
- Contribute actively to the development of demo and pilot processes, including standardized procedures and best practices for scaling field operations.
- Share insights from offshore operations with sales and engineering teams, as your expertise is highly valued!
- Document technical issues and provide feedback to sales and engineering for product improvement.
Profile
- EOD/commercial offshore diver or offshore AUV/ROV operator with 5+ years of offshore experience; tech-savvy and hands-on; background in engineering, technical operations, or related fields (robotics experience is a plus, but not mandatory).
- Extensive market knowledge and hands-on experience with offshore campaigns and their execution.
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles (demonstrations, training, services, or field support).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with customers.
- Strong organizational skills, including logistics planning and risk/method assessments.
- Confidence in operating and troubleshooting technical equipment.
- Willingness to learn data handling and reporting to achieve professional results for customers.
- Flexibility for frequent international travel (2-4 days, approximately 2x per month, short notice).
- Independent, pragmatic, and solution-oriented; thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Fluent in professional English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a strong advantage.
- Driver’s license is mandatory.
- Passion for working in a dynamic startup environment and the ability to thrive in challenging outdoor conditions.

- Experience in robotics, maritime high-tech, or deep expertise in industrial inspection.
- Offshore certifications (GWO/BOSIET or equivalent).
- Robustness against seasickness.
