Tethys Robotics develops innovative underwater robotic solutions for inspection and investigation operations in challenging conditions. We serve clients such as large asset operators and industrial service providers operating in high-demand sectors including offshore wind, oil and gas, maritime security, demining (UXO, MCM), and search and rescue.
As an ETH Zürich Spin-Off, we are a fast-growing pioneer in the underwater robotics industry – made in Switzerland. We recently finalized a pre-seed investment round of 3.5 million and are excited to take on the underwater robotic world by storm! We are looking for a passionate sales professional with a business developer's mindset to help us achieve our goals.
Job Description
As a Sales Representative / Key Account Manager at Tethys Robotics, you will report directly to the executive management and collaborate closely with our business and technical teams as well as external partners. Your role will involve implementing our underwater robotic solutions into customer operations by identifying, acquiring, and establishing long-term relationships with clients in the offshore energy and defense market.
Representing Tethys Robotics will involve a hands-on work ethic at conferences, demonstrations, and international customer visits.
Your Contribution
- Actively acquire new customers in the offshore energy and defense sectors to close sales deals.
- Lead and support contract negotiations and take responsibility for deal closure.
- Represent our technologically complex products through strategically targeted customer visits, online meetings, and in-person demonstrations at international trade shows and customer sites.
- Build long-term relationships with decision-makers while providing industry insights to position Tethys Robotics effectively among target customers.
- Co-develop market and customer-specific sales strategies (e.g., reseller, agencies, distributors).
- Develop customized proposals in close collaboration with engineering and executive management.
Profile
- At least 5 years of proven B2B sales experience with technologically sophisticated products, ideally possessing a robust network in the offshore energy and defense markets.
- Demonstrated success in technology sales.
- Excellent communication skills, strong negotiation abilities, and intercultural competence, with a talent for winning people over.
- Technical understanding and affinity for operating complex systems, ideally in robotics, sensor technology, or maritime technologies (an engineering degree is advantageous).
- Significant experience in methodically managing sales funnels, preferably using HubSpot.
- Fluent in professional English, both written and spoken; proficiency in other languages is a strong advantage.
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake spontaneous national and international business travel.
- Driver's license is mandatory.
- A passion for thriving in a fast-paced startup environment and motivation to work in challenging outdoor conditions.
Bonus Points if You Bring:
- Extensive market knowledge, including hands-on experience with offshore campaigns and execution.
- Sales experience in the maritime industry or robotics.
- Offshore certification (GWO / BOSIET or equivalent).
