Tethys Robotics specializes in pioneering underwater robotic solutions for inspection and investigation operations in challenging conditions. Our clientele includes major asset operators and industrial service providers across high-demand sectors such as offshore wind and oil & gas, as well as fields like maritime security, demining (UXO, MCM), and search & rescue.

As an ETH Zürich Spin-Off, we are a rapidly growing leader in the underwater robotics industry, proudly made in Switzerland. With the completion of a recent pre-seed investment round totaling 3.5 million, we are poised to make significant strides in the underwater robotics arena. We are on the lookout for a passionate sales professional with a business developer’s mindset to join our team.

About the Role

As a Sales Representative / Key Account Manager at Tethys Robotics, you will report directly to the executive management and collaborate closely with our business and technical teams, as well as external partners. Your primary goal will be to implement our underwater robotic solutions into customer operations by identifying, acquiring, and fostering long-term relationships within the offshore energy and defense markets.

Your role will require a hands-on approach, engaging with clients at conferences, demonstrations, and customer visits worldwide.

Your Contributions

  • Proactively acquire new customers in the offshore energy and defense sectors to close sales deals.
  • Lead and support contract negotiations, ensuring the successful closure of deals.
  • Effectively represent our technologically complex products during strategic customer visits, online meetings, and at international trade shows.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, while providing valuable industry insights to strengthen Tethys Robotics' positioning among target customers.
  • Co-develop market- and customer-specific sales strategies, including collaborations with resellers, agencies, and distributors.
  • Work closely with engineering and executive management to develop customized proposals.

Qualities We Seek

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven B2B sales experience with technologically sophisticated products, alongside a strong network in the offshore energy and defense markets.
  • A track record of success in technology sales.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong negotiation abilities, with an aptitude for building rapport with diverse personalities.
  • A technical background and affinity for operating complex systems, ideally in robotics, sensor technology, or maritime technologies.
  • Experience in managing sales funnels methodologically and systematically, preferably using HubSpot.
  • Fluency in professional English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake spontaneous national and international business travel.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment while facing challenging outdoor conditions.

Bonus Points For

  • Extensive market knowledge and hands-on experience with offshore campaigns.
  • Sales experience within the maritime industry or robotics.
  • Offshore certifications (GWO / BOSIET or equivalent).
  • An enthusiasm for working in an international environment with clients and team members from diverse backgrounds.
