Sales Force Effectiveness Manager / Customer Operations Manager

Our client is a prominent global player in the pharmaceutical industry with its headquarters located in Basel, Switzerland. They are currently undergoing a transformation concerning organizational culture and external perceptions. The company focuses on innovative therapies in oncology and ophthalmology, and is actively developing a competitive pipeline in neuroscience and dermatology, featuring one of the world's strongest collections of Phase II/III studies.

We are seeking a Sales Force Effectiveness Manager / Customer Operations Manager for an 18-month contract in Basel. This is an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that over 150 contracted partners and associated local organizations in more than 80 export countries receive top-quality service to facilitate commercial operations and product supply.
  • Prepare, review, approve, and archive all relevant documents required for executing export business, adhering to country-specific and organizational requirements while aligning with applicable compliance standards (i.e., NFCM / SOX).
  • Compile and analyze price and condition data to support commercial decisions related to the export business.
  • Implement, maintain, and monitor price and condition master data in accordance with Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) requirements.
  • Train employees on systems (PricePro and TPES) to ensure proper usage.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of distribution agreements and any other legal documents for customers and/or countries.
  • Independently manage all documents required for export business in close collaboration with various functions including Pricing & Market Access, Supply Chain, Logistics, QA, Trade Compliance, Regulatory, Funds Flow, Credit Management, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and IT support teams for PricePro and TPES.
  • Ensure Commercial Offers, Tender Quotations, Pro-Forma Invoices, and other documents requested by customers and/or countries are accurate, complete, and compliant before signature and communication to external customers.
  • Provide Pro-forma Invoices to assigned countries to enable commercial transactions and obtain import licenses as per country-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with Global Pricing & Market Access to provide Price Certificates to assigned countries for product launches and re-registrations.
  • Identify, support, and implement opportunities for process simplification across Export Operations.
  • Support the implementation of process redesign initiatives from kick-off to monitoring to enhance compliance, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU Citizenship required.
  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages such as French is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in multinational Commercial and/or Business Administration roles, specifically in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 3+ years of substantial experience in the export business within the pharmaceutical sector, particularly with a detailed understanding of commercial operations in small and mid-sized emerging markets.
  • IT proficiency in PricePro, TPES, SAP (mainly SD, FI), and MS Office.
  • Experience in multinational and matrix organizations as well as cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage urgent and complex (multi-functional) assignments and resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience.
