Sales and Operations Planning Specialist / Sales and Operations Planning Specialist

VAT Vakuumventile AG - April 30, 2025

YOUR CHALLENGES

As a key player in our team, you will develop, implement, manage, and enhance our capacity planning process. This includes collaborating with all relevant external suppliers across X-tier levels to identify individual constraints—such as resources and subcomponents—while providing transparency about excess and insufficient capacities within the planning horizon and beyond.

You will orchestrate X-tier actions to effectively handle ramp-up and ramp-down scenarios for overall and individual markets or key accounts.

Your responsibilities will include performing in-depth analysis on:

  • Forecasts on component and supplier/resource levels to highlight significant developments, proactively identifying potentially impacted business elements (volume, business unit, customer, region) to inform S&OP meetings and decisions.
  • Actual demand versus forecasted demand (focusing on forecast accuracy related to MRP results), investigating major deviations, and identifying root causes for discrepancies.
  • Identifying clusters and patterns to optimize capacity planning and strategy.

You will coordinate with cross-functional business teams to devise effective strategies that support customer demand. Additionally, you will communicate with external suppliers when necessary to clarify and coordinate relevant changes in forecasts.

Your role will also involve triggering and coordinating the implementation of planning strategies, collaborating with relevant counterparts such as PLSCM, category management, production, and materials scheduling.

Engaging with both external suppliers and internal cross-functional departments will be essential to ensure and optimize the fulfillment of forecasted volumes and the required flexibility.

As a member of the operations team, you will participate in making cross-functional operational decisions.

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • At least 5 years of experience in customer forecast planning, market intelligence, and/or the S&OP process.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, encompassing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
