Position Objectives
The RRP Sourcing Sustainability Manager is pivotal in showcasing our commitment to product sustainability. This role involves identifying and implementing solutions that enhance communication and stakeholder engagement, which are essential components of our responsible sourcing strategy.
This hands-on position provides a unique opportunity to blend expertise in communication, change management, and storytelling with knowledge of sustainability regulations and industry best practices, all while achieving business targets. Ideal candidates will be passionate about electronics supply chains, responsible manufacturing practices, sourcing sustainability, and product circularity.
The RRP Sourcing Sustainability Manager will collaborate closely with our electronics sourcing teams, corporate teams, and suppliers to propel our responsible sourcing program and ensure we meet sustainability targets across our electronics value chain.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a communication and engagement strategy specifically for RRP and electronic devices, ensuring alignment with various corporate functions, markets, and external stakeholders.
- Support internal and external capacity building and stakeholder engagement activities, contributing to the credibility of responsible sourcing initiatives and governance frameworks.
- Stay informed on existing and emerging regulations concerning sustainability reporting, supply chain diligence, environmental issues, human rights, and product sustainability both in the EU and globally, translating regulatory complexities into actionable strategies.
- Track, document, and assure visibility and progress of ongoing projects, contributing to timely external disclosures and stakeholder communications.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key external stakeholders and industry organizations, identifying opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Professional Experience
- 7-10 years of experience at the nexus of sustainability reporting, communications, and stakeholder engagement, preferably within a consumer-facing corporate environment, industry association, or agency supporting brand communications.
- Demonstrated breadth and depth in voluntary standards and best practices for responsible sourcing and supply chain sustainability, particularly in consumer goods, along with a solid understanding of existing and emerging sustainability regulations.
- A proven track record in corporate affairs, policy, and stakeholder engagement focused on sustainability and ESG, with experience working alongside large industry associations, policy groups, think tanks, and NGOs.
Qualifications and Education
- Master's degree in sustainability, international development, communications, supply chain management, human rights, or a related field.
Language and Technical Skills
- Fluency in English for effective verbal and written communication; knowledge of Japanese or Chinese is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Proven experience in large, complex organizations, capable of collaboratively influencing various stakeholders while challenging the status quo and addressing difficult questions.
- A strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to balance team needs against broader company goals in a dynamic, culturally diverse environment.
