Supported by the Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zürich), our venture is part of a unique accelerator program embedded within ETH Zürich and the University of Zürich, focusing on the burgeoning fields of regenerative medicine, robotics, and bionic technologies.

Position: Robotics Machine Learning Intern

As a Robotics Machine Learning Intern, you will play a crucial role in the development and design of our future robotic systems. Your work will shape the quality and features of our algorithms, allowing your innovative spirit and project experience to manifest new ideas and approaches in underwater robotic systems. Your expertise in robotic software will be key to enhancing and advancing robotic functionalities as you collaborate with our R&D team to push groundbreaking ideas into reality.

Your Contribution

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the following tasks:

• Designing and implementing higher-level algorithms on top of existing networks using sonar imaging.
• Testing, analyzing, and proposing improvements to existing networks and implementing those enhancements.
• Preparing pioneering algorithms for sonar perception for deployment and conducting relevant tests.

Qualifications

To excel in this position as a ML-focused robotics engineer, you should possess:

• A master’s degree in data science, computer science, robotics, electrical, or software engineering (currently pursuing).
• Hands-on experience in various robotics disciplines: Machine Learning, Perception, and Localization.
• A collaborative spirit, thriving as a team player in the fast-paced environment of a startup.
• The ability to work independently while delivering high-quality results.
• A pragmatic work attitude, with a talent for solution-oriented decision making.
• A minimum internship period of 6 months is required.

Bonus Points

Applicants with the following qualifications or experiences will receive bonus points:

• A proven track record in setting up software, managing operating systems, utilizing version control (e.g., GitHub), and designing robust project architectures.
• Evidence of holistic project management will be considered a strong asset.
