We are supported by the Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zürich), a unique accelerator program embedded within ETH Zürich and the University of Zürich, focusing on the booming fields of regenerative medicine, robotics, and medical devices/bionic technologies.

Position: Robotics Machine Learning Intern

As a Robotics Machine Learning Intern, you will play a pivotal role in the development and design of our future robotic systems. Your contributions will define the quality and features of our algorithms. Equipped with your innovative spirit and project experience, you will bring fresh ideas and novel approaches to the evolution of underwater robotic systems. Your expertise in robotic software will establish you as a key driver in enhancing and advancing robotic functionalities, as you collaborate closely with our R&D team to turn pioneering ideas into reality.

Your Contributions

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the following tasks:

• Designing and implementing higher-level algorithms on top of existing networks using sonar imaging.
• Testing, analyzing, and proposing improvements to the networks and implementing them.
• Developing pioneering algorithms for sonar perception, making them ready for deployment and testing.

Qualifications

To excel in this role as an ML-focused robotics engineer, you should possess:

• A master’s degree in data science, computer science, robotics, electrical or software engineering (or currently pursuing one).
• Hands-on experience with various robotic disciplines, including Machine Learning, Perception, and Localization.
• A collaborative spirit as a team player who thrives in the fast-paced startup environment.
• The independence to work autonomously while delivering high-quality results.
• A pragmatic work attitude, capable of making practical, solution-oriented decisions.
• A minimum internship duration of 6 months is required.

Applicants with the following qualifications or experience will receive bonus points:

• A comprehensive track record in setting up software, operating systems, version control (e.g., GitHub), and designing robust project architectures.
• Evidence of holistic project management will be considered a strong asset.
